If it is actually true that the ousted governor of Imo State jetted out of Nigeria, as soon as his hopes of upturning the Supreme Court judgement was dashed, then, the Imo State government must put measures in place to ensure that he is tested for the pandemic, Convid-19.
If countries like Italy and even the United States of America with all their sophistication in medical diagnosis and treatment could take some preventive measures,. including banning some public gatherings, there is no reason, the State government should not take preemptive steps to ensure that Imolites are protected from a possible outbreak of the deadly disease in our country.
Even if Chief Ihedioha is certified okay at the moment, the government would be keeping with standard preventive measures by ensuring that he is quarantined, as long as it is confirmed that he passed through or visited any of the countries with a record of Corona virus outbreak.
The former federal lawmaker should also be patriotic enough to submit himself for tests by State Government officials. He shouldn’t see this as an embarrassment of any sorts, but a necessary step to protect our people’s health.
