President, Vice President, Governors, deputy Governors to loses Immunity

Immunity conferred on sitting President, and it vice, Governors and it deputies in Nigeria may be lift off after the Senate passed the bill sponsored by Deputy Senate President to amend 1999 constitution that quality criminal liability for certain public holders.

According to the bill titled ” A bill for an act to alter the provisions of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999 to qualify criminal liability for certain public officers under section 308″ who already pass second reading was sponsored by Ovie Omo-Agege, deputy Senate president.

What is seeking is that, if it is passed into law, a sitting President, and vice, Governor and deputy can be prosecuted while in office if the found guilty of any criminals activities.
