I coincidentally came across a born Engr. Mr Abdul Haddy, a 16yrs old boy from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State that moved me with his creative knowledge of craftsmanship, he manufactured a battery powered aeroplane from metal scrabes, electric motors and wood fables that can moved and fly within some diameter.
I was so inspired and ask him little questions regard how he comes about his Engineering and motivational skills that brought about these synergies?
He smiled and said, i love craftsmanship right from primary school with so much joy when it comes to hand work where our teachers asked us to mould vehicle with clay. Infanct that is where i scored higher marks in an examination, this technical passion lead me to quickly got into motor mechanic apprentice immediately after my primary school till my guardian was able to enroled me for secondary school. During my technical work i got to know much about motions, magnetic forces and remote electrical appliance,
so that is how I developed this idea of trying to manufacture a toy aeroplane with the help of an electric motors from damage motor parts than can be remotively control within a certain metre and we can see it worked out.
The front wheel electric motor moved the aeroplane, as the motions of the wheel increases allowed both the propeller to speed and fly the toy aeroplane.
Children like this requires motivations, with craftsmanship of this young Engr. I witnessed today i am certain if motivated and sponsored to study an Engineering courses, imagine what the future will hold for Ajaokuta Steel Company and Nigeria Aviation industries. Western world doesn’t experience a technological breakthrough overnight, they learned how to exploit and capitalize on their local technogies as such experience a synergies and breakthrough if not revolutions, we can if we won’t to, and redirect our mindset towards a teen dreams realizations.
