Akwa Ibom today recorded the first conviction of violators of the State Quarantine and Restriction of Movement Regulations 2020.
The convict is a 34-year-old truck driver from Ogun State who was conveying drinks worth millions of Naira on Ikot Ekpene Road by the University of Uyo roundabout, where he was arrested this morning.
He is liable to pay a fine of N100,000 in addition to the impoundment of his vehicle.
