Odion Ighalo Wants Manchester United stay

All set to return to Shanghai Shenhua.

It’s no doubt that Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has his future at Manchester united under threat of a potential end. Ighalo joined united from Shanghai Shenhua on the last day of January 2020 in a loan deal which seemed to be a bargain for united. But defiled all odds and gone on to be a very reliable striker for the club banging in goals that has helped the club stay afloat in the league and make more progress in the Europe’s second elite competition, the Europa league.

United were happy with his development at the club and was thinking of keeping him even beyond his loan deal, but due to the coronavirus football was placed on hold which caused a major damage to such a dream.

With the Chinese league set to resume training. Orders have been given to Ighalo for him to return to the club at the end of the month, when his loan deal expires.

It’s no doubt that Ighalo loves life at United were he has ever dreamt of playing right from his upcoming days as a footballer. But unless united act quickly and make an all out approach for a full contract extension that dream could well be over.

It’s clear what Ighalo wants. He isn’t after the huge chunk of money being offered by his parent Chinese club who has offered an improved two-year contract with a bumper pay of about £400,000 per week. He wants to be happy playing for the club he loves.

But with Shanghai Shenhua refusing to let him stay until the end of the rescheduled Epl season which would start by June 17 and end in August. United might just say goodbye to Odion Ighalo which would be easy to do with the return of Marcus Rashford from injury.
