Kogi State Government has formal hand over site
for the construction of Untra-Modern central reference hospital, in Okene to contractors.
Dr. Saka Haruna Audu, the state commissioner for health who disclosed the development, said that this just the begin.
In his statements, he said work has commenced in Okene, soonest, work will commenced in Lokoja central hospital, before Anyigba.
Dr. Saka said “We are pleased to inform the general public that the Project was budgeted for, approved by the State Excutive Council, advertised, budgeted cost funded and work has been awarded to appropriate contractors.
We implore the good people of Kogi State, especially those affected by the hardship involved in the relocation of the Zonal Hospital Okene to a temporary site to please bare with us as this is a little pain for a greater gain. We are working round the clock to ensure speedy completion of work so that HealthCare can be returned in ernest to a new and improved structure/services in terms of manpower, equipment and Civil facilities. We seek your prayers, cooperation and assistance where necessary.
His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello, has promised total revamping of these facilities. Work in Okene and Lokoja has started. We will soon be giving update on the specialist Hospital Lokoja. Then we will move on to Prince Audu Abubakar University Teaching Hospital Anyigba, Zonal Hospital Idah, Cottage Hospital Adogo and General Hospital, Isanlu. These Health Facilities are categorised in Phase 1 of the Programmatic Upgrade.
The date of the ground breaking ceremony will be announced soonest where His Excellency will lay a symbolic foundation block at the site.
