The 18 local government Chairmen of Edo State have reportedly dumped the APC and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to The Independent, this comes after the Governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki had officially joined the PDP on Friday, June 19, 2020.

“I have officially joined the PDP to advance my ambition in seeking re-election as the governor of Edo State.” He said on his Twitter page.

The governor had left APC, after he was disqualified from participating in the governorship primaries slated for June 22, over allegations of ‘defective certificate’.
