EPL Results: Arsenal lose again,Palace punish Sorry Bournemouth

The EPL was in full swing yesterday with most teams getting to play their first game since football resumed in England.

Kicking things off things was the match Between Watford and Leicester at the Vicarage Road.A match that ended in a 1 all draw with wonderful goals scored in the late stages of the game. The match was seemingly heading for a goaless draw in an evenly contested affair from both teams until Leicester’s left-back Ben Chilwell found the top corner with a wonderful strike to put the Foxes ahead in the 90th minute. They thought they had taken all three points but it wasn’t meant to be. Watford’s substitute Jose Holebas took a stoppage time corner that was handled wrongly by Christian Kabasele only for Watford defender, Craig Dawson to score with an amazing volley in the 93rd minute to peg the game the game at a draw. The goal was valuable for the Hornet’s battle for relegation. A point gained for Watford now puts them one point above the relegation zone while Leicester still sits comfortably in Third position.

West Ham 0-2 Wolves

Relegation threatened, West Ham continued to struggle as they were convincingly defeated by Wolverhampton Wanderers      bringing their number of defeats this season 17 from 30 games thanks to Goals from Raul Jimenez 17 minutes from time and Pedro Neto. The result lifts Wolves to the sixth position right above Sheffield United.

Bournemouth 0-2 Crystal Palace.

Palace tasted victory on the night of their return to EPL action compounding more woes on opponents,Bournemouth. A wonderful free kick goal from Luka Milivojevic in the 12th minute and Jordan Ayew’s ninth goal of the season in the 23rd minute made it four wins in a role for Palace thier best since 2018 to lift them right above Arsenal to ninth four points behind fifth place Manchester United .The defeat kept Bournemouth fighting for EPL survival as they sit quietly in the 18th position.

The Gunners were gunned down at Brighton in what has seemed to be a terrible week for Arsenal losing both matches and important players to injury. Naul Maupay scored a 95th minute goal to give Brighton all three points. After his hand in the cause of Arsenal’s goalkeeper’s injury were he seemed to have pushed Bernd Leno whlie contesting for an aerial the Arsenal Goalkeeper landed awkwardly on his knee prompting him to be stretched out of the field adding to Arsenal’s injury list. On return to play in the second half Arsenal shook off the loss of arguably their best player of the season with a wonderful goal from Nicolas Pepe in the 68th minute to put the visitors ahead but that goal only lasted for 7 minutes as Brighton pulled one back through Lewis Dunk to grab the equaliser. It wasn’t a certain David Luiz’s fault this time guess it was due to Arsenal’s lack of concentration according to coach Mikel Arteta that caused Naul Maupay to score a last last minute goal lifting the ball above replacement goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to kill every hope of Champions league qualification for the Gunners.
