Kogi State Government earlier today received two mobilized locally-fabricated modular fumigators from the representatives of Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
The fumigators were received by the Deputy Governor and Chairman of Kogi State Covid-19 squadron Committee, Chief Edward David Onoja at the Government House in Lokoja.
According to the representative of the palace, the initiative was birthed by Ooni as the part of his Covid-19 intervention Scheme. He said the Coronavirus pandemic has left governments all over the world handicapped in one way or another, saying it was time for everyone, irrespective of tribe or religion to join forces in the fight against ‘collective enemy’.
Ooni said that he hopes that his contribution will add to the effort of the state government in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
Reacting, the chairman of kogi state Covid-19 squadron Committee, Chief Edward Onoja expressed gratitude to the Ooni for his humane gesture and for stretching his hand of fellowship across the Niger.
He said he was particularly impressed with the ingenuity displayed in assembly local materials to construct such a too, adding that the fumigators will contribute efficiently to the state’s efforts in combating the spread of the Covid-19 into the state, and assured that they will be put into effective use when needed.
The items received were latter handed over to the state ministry of environment.
