North London derby: Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal- Alderweireld helps Spurs boost European hopes.

Toby Alderweireld scored a late header to help Spurs move passed Arsenal on the league standings, improving hopes of contesting in a European competition next season.

Tottenham were obviously second best on Sunday, going down 1-nil from an amazing Alekandre Lacazette opener in the 16th minute. But from persistence Son Heung-Min capitalised on a defensive mishap from the Gunners to get an equaliser 3mins later to draw Spurs levelled.

The second was pretty different as the usual Jose Mourinho tactics was in play which saw Tottenham sitting back and soaking pressure from Arsenal.

They got the reward in 81st minute. Toby Alderweireld scoring an amazing header assisted by Son Heung-Min to put and give Spurs the lead. Son Heung-Min now has the record for being the first player since E.Adebayor’s time to score and assist in the same match.

Arsenal are now below Spurs in the league standings, as the season gradually come to an end..
