EPL Match Report: Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool •-° League Champions miss out on record points with a defeat to The Gunners.

The match was practically decided the first half which saw all of Liverpool’s hope of a Premier League total point dashed.

Costly mistakes from Van dijk and goalkeeper Alisson ensured The Reds were defeated 2 goals to 1 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Reds needed just a point to keep them in line to claiming the record and such efforts were boosted when Sadio Mane scored the opener in the 20th minute.

However, surprising lapses from Vigil Van dijk and then Goalkeeper Alisson blew Liverpool’s lead with Alexandre Lacazette equalising in the 32nd minute and then Reiss Nelson scored his first Premier league goal for Arsenal.

This is the first time Arsenal is victorious over Liverpool since April 2015 (4-1). The Premier point total record is now beyond Liverpool who now sits at 93 points with two games to play.

Arsenal improved hopes of a top six finish with this victory. Three goals in four games for Lacazette who’s quick thinking gave him the equaliser.
