COVID-19 : Boris Johnson, UK PM gives conditions for fresh total lockdown

Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has given conditions for imposing a fresh total lockdown.

He said that as a last resort, he will impose another nationwide coronavirus lockdown. He compared the tool to “a nuclear deterrent”.

He revealed that he is hoping that by Christmas, Britain can return to “normality”.

Despite the fears of a second wave of cases over winter, Johnson insisted that the country was getting better at tackling the virus.

It was recorded that the UK is among the worst-hit countries in the world by COVID-19, registering the highest death toll in Europe.

Boris Johnson is desperate to amend the battered economy that was caused by the months-long lockdown., and that is why he is avoiding another national shutdown.

“I can’t abandon that tool any more than I would abandon a nuclear deterrent.

But it is like a nuclear deterrent, I certainly don’t want to use it. And nor do I think we will be in that position again.”

He stated further that health authorities were “getting much better at spotting the disease and isolating it locally” while also learning more about who it affects most and how it is spread.
