BREAKING: Nigeria Student Resume Schools Nationwide 4th of August, after Sallah Break

The coast is now clear that Nigerian students will return to their classrooms this year, after nearly six months of school closure over COVID-19 pandemic.

In the first batch of school reopening are final year pupils, who are to resume Tuesday, next week, for their exit examination.

The decision was taken today at a stakeholders meeting, where it was agreed that exit classes should resume immediately after the Sallah break, from 4th August, 2020 to enable them to prepare for the WAEC examinations scheduled to commence 17th of August.

The stakeholders also resolved that a passionate appeal be made to the Federal Government through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and public-spirited Nigerians for assistance to schools across the country to enable them fast track the preparations of safe reopening.

Confirming the development, the Director of Press and Public Relations, in the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, said
another meeting is slated for tomorrow between the Federal Ministry of Education and Chief Executives of examination bodies including, NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS to harmonise their examination dates.
