Edo 2020: Dokpesi promises 8000 votes as Arewa Community endorses Obaseki, Shaibu for second term

The Chairman of DAAR Communications, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has vowed to mobilise other voters in his Ward One, Wanno, Etsako East Local Government Area (LGA) to deliver 8, 000 votes out of the 8, 500 registered voters to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, in the September 19, 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo State.

Dokpesi, who led other party faithful to receive the PDP campaign team in Ward One, Wanno, expressed confidence that the governor will be reelected to consolidate on his developmental strides across the state.

The DAAR Communications boss said: “We have 8,500 registered voters in Ward One and I promise you 8,000 votes from this ward. Obaseki, you will sweep more votes from this ward. I urge you my people, to ensure that we give the governor 100 per cent votes.”

Obaseki’s second term bid also got a major boost as the Hausa community in Agenebode threw its weight behind the governor’s reelection, noting that the governor has impacted positively on the lives of majority of the people and will be returned to continue his good works.

Leading the Arewa Community, Alhaji Gambo urged the governor to sustain the successes recorded by his administration in all sectors of the state, adding: “You have shown that you are our father as you don’t discriminate against us. We have benefited from your administration and we are committed to give you 100 per cent of our votes come September 19, 2020.”

On his part, Governor Obaseki reassured the people that the issue of electricity in the area will soon be a thing of the past as his administration has started work with the federal government to ensure that the people get electricity.

He said the bill establishing College of Agriculture has been signed into law and the college will soon take off in the area, adding: “I have signed the law of the College of Agriculture and soon we will bring the school back to Agenebode to create more jobs for the youths of the area. All the township roads will be constructed for easy access.

“We have started work in Weppa farm as we focus on putting more money in agriculture to create jobs for the youths. We are working with the water board to ensure water flows in Agenebode.

“I once drove out the Managing Director of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) for failure to provide electricity to Edo people; I will work with the federal government to provide electricity for you.”

The governor said his administration will empower more women in Agenebode with finance to boost their businesses, noting: “We will provide small loans for over 3,000 women in Agenebode to grow their businesses.”
