It will be another season gone for Juve whom European success seems to continue to elude.

Having lost the first leg in France by a loan goal, some would have said that such scoreline could be overturned in Italy. But none of such happened as a very spirited Lyon came with all they had in them matching toe to toe with the Serie A champions.

Referee, Felix Zwayer handed Juve a lifeline by pointing to the spot, Juve equalise through Cristiano Ronaldo giving him his 36 goal of the season.

Ronaldo followed that goal with an amazing long range effort in the 60th minute. At this stage last season, Ronaldo scored a Hat-trick against Atletico Madrid but such feat were beyond him this time as Juve suffered the pain of an exit.

Ronaldo’s Double however, was enough to help the Portuguese break a longstanding record held by Club legend, Felice Borel in the 1933-34 season of being the highest goalscorer per season by a Juventus Player. He now ends the season with 31 Serie A goals, 4 Champions League goals and 2 in the Coppa Italia.
