It could be recall that Governor Mai Mala had earlier on his swearing-in day as Yobe state Governor on 29th May 2019, declared a state of emergency on education, he further went ahead and constructed six model primary schools ( that contained 360 classes, 80 staff offices and 12 lecture theatres) across Damaturu, Gujba, Geidam, Nguru and Potiskum towns, all in his efforts to revive education sector in the state.
Governor Buni also set up committee on revitalization of Almajiri education in the, he equally renovated over 42 Secondary schools across the state, where about 16 are newly constructed.
In November, 2019, he increased the monthly allowances of School nursing students, and constructed 200 story building capacity hostel, 20 new offices and 4 additional lecture theatres in Shehu Sule college of Nursing and midwifery, Damaturu.
