Manchester City Midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne named Premier League Player of the Season.

 

 


Kevin De Bruyne won the award ahead of Liverpool trio Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold.De Bruyne equalled Thierry Henry’s record for most assists in a single season.

Other stars who were nominated for the award include Leicester City’s Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy, Southampton striker Danny Ings and Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. De Bruyne enjoyed a stellar season with Man City as he equaled the record for most assists in a season set by Thierry Henry in 2003.

De Bruyne finished the season with 13 goals and 20 assists in the Premier League, equalling Thierry Henry’s longstanding record for most assists in a season set in 2003.

 

Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold was named Young Player of the Season, while his manager Jurgen Klopp won the award for Premier League Manager of the Season.

Klopp beat Frank Lampard, Chris Wilder and Brendan Rodgers to win the award. Chelsea manager Frank Lampard got the nomination after taking the Blues to the FA Cup final and also ended up in the top four this season.

It was an amazing season for Kevin de Bryune, but his outstanding prowess were not good enough to help City win the league or even progress in the Champions League.

City’s season came to an eventually disappointing end, but it was largely kept afloat by the brilliance of Kevin De Bruyne, whose energy and unrivalled technical ability won several games for City on their own.
