Lewis Hamilton dedicates win to Chadwick Boseman
Lewis Hamilton, British Formula One driver has paid a victorious Wakanda tribute to late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman after winning the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday.
He said,
“I want to dedicate this win to Chad and his family, he was such an inspiration and his legacy will live on.”
Hamilton, the only black F1 driver in history, made the film’s Wakanda salute on the podium in dedication to the actor, who played the pioneering black superhero.
He shared images of the moment on Twitter with the caption,
“we must continue to fight for equality. nothing has changed yet and the battle continues”.
This is in light of recent Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
