EPL Weekend Highpoints: Brilliant Kickoff for Arsenal begins the new season with a convincing win over newcomers, Fulham. Willian show of class proves He is still as amazing as ever.

 

 

The two summer signings caught the eye as Mikel Arteta’s resurgent Gunners opened the new Premier League season with a comfortable 3-0 win at Fulham.

It might only be just over a month since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang lifted the FA Cup at Wembley, but this is already has the look of a very different Arsenal team – one with their new signings at the heart of it.

Arsenal’s Samba boys revelled in the west London sunshine as Mikel Arteta’s side got their new Premier League season off to the perfect start at Fulham.

Though Things didn’t exactly get off to the best of starts when substitutes Dani Ceballos and Eddie Nketiah were involved in an angry flare-up during the warm-ups. But once the game got under way, it was nothing but smooth sailing for the visitors.

Alexandre Lacazette fired the Gunners ahead just eight minutes into the encounter with a stunning strike. The 29-year-old tapped into the net from a goal-mouth scramble to score the first EPL goal of the 2020-21 season.

Gabriel doubled the Gunners’ lead just four minutes into resumption after heading William’s corner beyond Marek Rodak’s reach.

There is still plenty of work to do and there will be more changes before the transfer window closes on October 6, but the way they blitzed new boys Fulham at Craven Cottage bodes well for the remainder of the campaign.

Aubameyang sealed the victory for the North Londoners three minutes before the hour mark, again from Willian’s superb assist. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inspires Arsenal to 3-0 victory over Fulham.

The Brazilian sprayed a wonderful cross-field pass to Aubameyang, who surged forward from the left and curled an unstoppable shot into the far corner to open his account for this season.

Arsenal could have had more in the final half hour, with Aubameyang having an effort cleared off the line and Lacazette also going close.

But, by then, the game had been long since won, with the Gunners’ summer signings having already made an excellent first impression.

Good win and a good way to start from Arteta’s side they now sit at the summit of the league hoping to countinue this outstanding performance.
