Adamawa to announce reopening of school soon-Gov Fintiri

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Thursday has flagged-off the construction and rehabilitation of 80 schools In partnership with the United Nations Childrens Education fund (UNICEF) at fufore central primary school,

the projects will be carried out in the two local governments of fufore and guyuk respectively.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in his speech Commended UNICEF for being a partner towards making basic education accessible to every child in Adamawa State.

He said that this can only be achieved when the learning environment is safe and conducive for the children.

Governor Fintiri reassured that his administration will not spare any effort towards providing education to the children of the state, stressing that since assumption of office the government declared a state of emergency on basic education in view of its importance to the growth and the development of the state and the nation at large.

The governor is happy that the efforts have paid off, despite the COVID 19 challenges across the world,He noted that government has a duty to compliment the efforts of UNICEF and orther donor organizations promising that every kobo will count.

He challenged officials saddled with the responsibility of the projects to ensure accountability and transparency in the process.

Governor Fintiri used the opportunity to announce that Schools across the state will soon reopen for learning following the COVID -19 pandemic that forced schools to close.

UNICEF representative Bauchi field office Bhanu phatack commended Governor Fintiri for payment of the counterpart fund for the project and also re emphasize the need for implementation of sustainable development goals (SDG) ,improved school enrolment, Psycho social support and right to education for all.
