No fewer than two soldiers were on September 23rd 2020 killed by unknown gunmen in Abia State.
The affected soldiers were attached to 144 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Asa,
Omokoshaban learn that they were on duty at Owaza when the gunmen attacked them, leading to the deaths of two soldiers and others left with injuries.
Our correspondent further gathered that rifle of the soldier killed were taken away by the attackers.
The soldiers were able to gun down two of the attackers.
The injured soldiers are currently been treated in an undisclose hospital.
Reacting to the incident, Abia State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi, said in a statement that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had ordered security agencies in the state to ensure that perpetrators of the attacks should be arrested immediately and the stolen weapons recovered.
