The new No.9 arrived at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano after being forced out at Barcelona, having it made clear to him that he didn’t feature in new boss Ronald Koeman’s plans.
“To contribute a bit more to a great side like Atletico Motivates me. In recent seasons they’ve always been fighting [in Laliga Santander] and they show you what it means to compete.
I want to score more and try to help the team where I can.”
Suarez also spoke on how coach, Diego Simeone motivated him more and more to make a move to the Spanish Capital, “He speaks to you with a lot of conviction he said.”
Luis Suarez would be hoping to achieve more at Atletico and scoring two in your first game is not a bad way to start. Barcelona may have just made a mistake letting him go.
