After one year in marriage, American actress, Lena Waithe’s wife Alana Mayo has filed for divorce.
The American lesbian got married last year in San Francisco courthouse, after been together for few years.
The rumours of the divorce was first announced Back in January this year by Emmy winner when she said that they had separated.
The announced was just two months after their marriage was announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The statement jointly released that time by the estranged couple through USA Today, said: “After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways. We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”
Their are allegations that Waithe was unfaithful in the union and was buying expensive gifts for another women since the announcement.
Waithe, 36 years old woman and Mayo, 35 years old woman was said to have been in love for over three years, and they got engaged in Tokyo on Thanksgiving Day, in 2017.
A record obtain from the court by The Blast, earlier this week, stated that Alana filed a petition for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court.
