The incident happen on Friday When Muslim worshippers assembly to observed Friday prayers.
The gunmen come in numbers on motorcycles, lunch attacked a Friday congregational mosque in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing five worshippers instantly, and abducted over 40 people include Imam of the mosque.
A resident who speaks on conditions of anonymity told newsmen that the incident happened at Dutsen Gari community of Kanoma District of Maru, this last Friday.
He said dozens of the militant with sophisticated weapons arrived the community on motorbikes, and started shooting to scare and kill.
He said some community member run into the Bush with gun wound, they return home and go for treatment after the gunmen has left.
This attack is coming after the state governor deployed over 2000 special force to curb incessant killing in the State.
