Wifes of the Northern states Governors today paid Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku a courtesy call in his government House Chambers Jalingo, the visit which was aimed at intimating the Governor on their activities as Governors wifes in the state came amidst the Commsioning of a well equiped rehabilitation center situated at the specialist Hospital Jalingo build by Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku wife of the Taraba State Governor. The Center was commissioned By Governor Darius Ishaku and handed over to the state government through the ministry of health

Chairperson of the Forum Her Excellency Dr Aminat Bello said this is a quarterly meeting they host in each state and is a forum that has a basic function as a supporting mechanism to their husbands in bringing developments to their states. They work hand in hand with the Governors in making sure that the desired growth is brought to the people.
Among the few they do is the fight against drugs abuse, she said they have been on top fit in fighting drugs abuse by sensitising the people, by putting up rehabilitation centers which have yield tremendous result.
Hajiya Maria also said they have giving a good shot on child maternal mortality. Most of the people who are addicted to drugs Maria said doesn’t get into it willingly and the Forum have worked as far as identifying the causes of this and have try as much as they can to tackle those challenges to avoid revisit by patients.
She said they are in Taraba to commission one of the drugs rehabilitation centers build by the wife of Taraba state Governor Barr Anna Darius Ishaku , she applauded the step taking by Anna Ishaku in making sure that drug abuse is reduced to a minimum in Taraba state and the efforts she’s put in, in making sure that those who are rehabilitated gets the desired attention of living a better life.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku speaking appreciated the forum for chosing Taraba as the venue for the quarterly meeting at this troubled time. He said Forum as this serves as a strength in our democracy.
Darius said their activities which is aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people is well commended and urge them to put in more in addressing related issues. He said the menace of drugs cuts across all nooks and especially among the young youths and it has become so worrisome. He said those who are involved in this act will not just relinquish it but the fight has to be intensified because the problem is becoming endemic.
The Governor said alot of people doesn’t know that even the normal drugs we takes, when taking much becomes an addict and this has to be another enlightenment on the people.
He however urge them to use better part of their meeting in deliberating on how to coup this menace and how they can contribute more in eradicating or reducing this soar in our society. He mentioned that most of the unrest that comes up are mostly influence of drugs and if tackled will go along way in reduced kidnapping, banditry that is eating us deep.
