Former Imo Governor, Senator Rocha Okorocha Arrested

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested.

Okorocha arrested was disclose in an exclusive report by Premium Tim Newspaper.

According to the report, he was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at about 4 P.M. Tuesday at his Unity House private office in Abuja.

The former governor was arrested after a five-hour standoff with EFCC operatives who trailed him to the location.” Premium Time.

Omokoshaban learn that EfCC had repeatedly invited Okorocha to its Abuja headquarters in connection with multiple corruption allegations against him, but failed to honor the invitation.

The politician is currently being interrogated at the EFCC headquarters and it is unclear if he would be allowed to go home today.

Details of the allegations against the senator are sketchy but our sources said they are related to suspected monumental graft during his eight-year reign as governor.

Mr Okorocha’s spokesperson, Sam Onwuemeodo, could not be reached Tuesday evening to comment for this report.

When contacted, EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the former governor is in his agency’s custody.
