Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed Value added tax VAT, bill passed yesterday by the state House of assembly into law.
The governor was said to have signs the bill today after returning from official trips.
The development was disclose by Gbenga Omotoso, the HC, Information & Strategy to Lagos State government.
Omotoso said “Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.
The Governor signed the “bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services” at about 11. 45 am today, after returning from an official trip to Abuja.
By this act, the Bill has now become a Law.”
Federal government and many northern state has kick against the bill.
But despite that, Lagos and other South-east and south-west state welcome the development.
