Nigeria govt loses N247.61bn in 100 days of Twitter ban

Following the recent ban of the uses of Twitter in Nigeria by President Muhammad Buhari led government, Nigeria has lost a total of N247.61 billion, Punch Newspaper confirmed.

Recall that Nigerian government order blockaged of access to Twitter in Nigeria after the microblog platform delete Buhari tweet.

Presidency get offended and order Nigerian Telecom to block all access to Twitter in Nigeria.

Recent development published by Punch Newspaper indicate that Nigeria in it 2,400 hours ban of the uses of Twitter has lost huge amount of money.

Punch Newspaper report in part read:

According to the NetBlocks Cost of Shutdown Tool, the blockade costs Nigeria’s economy N103.17m ($250,600) every hour.

It has been 2,400 hours since the FG banned Twitter.

Recently presidency through Lai Muhammad reveal that Federal government of Nigeria is in close agreement with Twitter, but up till now Nigerian can’t access Twitter except with the use of VPN.
