Kenyan Father Sues Son For 20% Of Salary As Upkeep

A Kenyan father, Gideon Kisira Cherowo has approached the court to ask that his son, Mzee be compelled to give him 20 per cent of his salary.

Cherowo, 73, approached the Kitale High Court without legal representation to complain of being abandoned by his son.

He claimed that he sold his parcels of land to educate up to tertiary level.

The old man also said that he gave him his share of the inheritance; a quarter an acre of land and paid dowry for his son which comprised an undisclosed amount of money, four cows and other items.

The aggrieved father wants 20 per cent of his son’s salary as compensation for his sacrifice over the years.

According to reports, the son had yet to respond to the lawsuit.
