Kano Emir’s Son Still Angry That Air Peace Chairman Failed to Stop a Taxiing Plane For The Emir.
WHAT TRANSPIRED.
Mr. Isa Bayero, Emir of Kano’s son called Air Peace Chairman, Mr. Allen Onyema at about 5.52am, at a time he was still sleeping.
Isa called again at 5.59am which obviously woke him up.
The Chairman on seeing that it was Isa Bayero calling, he took the call. Isa told him that he and the Emir of Kano had just landed the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos from Banjul, Gambia and would be proceeding to Kano same morning.
Isa Bayero told Mr Onyema to delay their first flight of the day, the 6:15 am Lagos-Kano flight for him and the Emir with another eight persons. The chairman told Mr. Isa Bayero to give him a few minutes to call the airport to find out the status of the flight.
To show his desire to help, the Chairman called the COO immediately and intimated her with the request.
The COO quickly called the local airport from where the Airline carry on her day to day domestic flight operations and was told that the aircraft had since finished boarding and was almost taxiing out.
The Emir and his entourage were offered to board the 07:00am flight from Lagos to Abuja and a Free connection flight from Abuja to Kano.
However, Isa rejected the offer and insist that they must stop the flight that was almost on the air.
It was reported hours ago, that Isa Bayero has requested the Airline regulatory body to punish Air Peace for failing to stop a Taxiing plane fir them to board.
