Why Pictures are Significant at every stage of your life? – Martin Beck Nworah

Pictures are significant at every stage of your life. I have thousands of images from different points and places in my life that I have never uploaded to social media. Good and bad memories count, and you need to tell the story of your life to the people in your life when the time comes.

I know a multimillionaire today who snapped pictures the day he started his apprenticeship and snapped a new one along the business line of his boss every year till he was settled to start his own business. Sometimes he snapped while offloading goods, and he preserved them well. When his son went to the university and got influenced to do drugs and other vices, he bundled the young lad home and gave him a journey of his life in pictures.

“Whatever you’re enjoying today was because of this suffering and effort you see in these pictures. If I had the opportunity to be educated like your mother, I would’ve grabbed it. I will still do business, but maybe I won’t have to sleep at midnight after washing my oga’s cloth and wake up at 4:00 am to fetch water.”

The young lad not only heard the words but also saw what his father went through with his eyes. I know you must’ve seen some pictures of your parents at site or doing some work in the past.

Do not take pictures only when you are at an event, fancy place or restaurant. That noble place where you work hard to make your daily bread; take a picture there or do a short video if possible. Preserve these memories so that if you’re ever pushed to be frustrated with your life, you can look back and be grateful for how far you’ve come.

If you only snap at posh places and fall on hard times, looking back at those memories will frustrate you because you have no memory of when you were genuinely working hard to succeed before the hard times came. Having a memory of the days you were putting in work will help you to remember tough times never last forever.

Do this for yourself and teach lessons to those coming after you. Preserve memories of yourself that will instruct whenever the need arises.

Snap during good and bad times, even if you don’t post on social media!

Till we get to the Promised Land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
