Ex-Rivers State Accountant-General wanted for N435 billion fraud, wins Win EFCC In Courts

The immediate past Rivers Accountant-General, Siminialayi Fubara, who recently emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 General Election has also defeat Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC in court.

Fubara, who hails from the riverine Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area, scored 721 votes to defeat 15 other aspirants with Isaac Kamalu coming a distant second with 86 votes.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Prof. Walter Mbotu, declared Fubara the winner of the primary election.

Recall that the EFCC recently declared him and 58 others for N435 billion fraud.

River State Governor, Nyesome Wike who react to the victory in court said:

“We took EFCC to the Supreme Court and won them. The Supreme Court ruled that EFCC has no powers to investigate the accounts of Rivers State Government except they are invited by the Rivers State House of Assembly” – Governor Nyesom Wike
