Read his full statement below:

Today, as always, was a beehive of activities for us in the State. In all of this, we are committed to constantly engaging with the people for whom we are here.

We started out with a phone-in interactive programme at the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS) studios, Awka, where I addressed ndị Anambra on key issues around the polity within my first 100 days in office. This very initiative will continue periodically, and we would always keep the people abreast of all our activities.

Then, I held a townhall with Executives of all transport and market unions in the State where we announced the commencement of our new digital tax collection system. This is coming after a three month preparatory period where we suspended all windows of tax collection to set up a digital and more efficient system in line with our “technology everything and everywhere technology” policy.

This new system has phased out every form of manual collection of taxes together with all its sharp and inhuman practices, including, but not limited to touting gross revenue losses. We promised ndị Anambra disruptive change. This is one out of many more to come.

Together, we shall make Anambra a Liveable and Prosperous smart megacity.

CC. Soludo, CFR.
