Bendel Insurance qualify for NPL after beating Ikorodu FC 2-0

Bendel Insurance Footbal Club has secured their place in Nigerian Professional Footbal League (NPFL) after defeating visiting Ikorodu Football Club 2-0 on a rainy Thursday night in Benin.

The match held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Although the club has ascended to the professional league, Bendel Insurance still has two more games to play as their closest rival, Gateway United lost their game yesterday evening by two goals to one.

The two goals by Bendel Insurance were recorded in the second half of the match.

The first goal was netted in the 53rd minutes by Echeta Deputy who came in as a substitute, while the second goal was scored through a penalty kick by Imade Osarenkhoe, which sealed the victory for Insurance qualifications to NPFL.

It was celebration galore at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City as the Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha led other government functionaries to cheer the Benin team to victory.
