Fashola Inherited N100 Billion Debt From Tinubu In 2007

According to allafrica.com on 17th May 2007, the outgoing administration in Lagos State led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will be passing on to the next government come May 29 a debt portfolio of close to N100 billion.

Tinubu administration will also be handing over a N27 billion credit in the state coffers as take-off for the incoming Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN.

Check by Native Reporters shows Lagos State led the domestic debt list with N780. 48 billion domestic debt as of March 2022, accounting for 16.1% of the entire states’ domestic debt. Ogun State is a distant second with N241. 98 billion domestic debt stock, representing 6.1% of the total debts.
