Bauchi govt begins disbursement of N500m grant to traders, artisans

Bauchi state government has commenced the disbursement of 500 million naira grant to traders, artisans and other business community in the state.

The Chairman, Amalgamated Bauchi Traders and Artisans Multipurpose Cooperative Union, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Caps who disclosed this to journalists in Bauchi, said over 4000 traders and artisans across the 20 local government areas of the state have been selected to benefit from the grant.

Abdullahi Caps, who is also a member of the disbursement committee, appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his foresight to assist business community with the grant, saying it will go along way in tackling unemployment and poverty in the state.

According to him, the grant will also enhance business activities thereby generating revenue for the state in addition to providing job opportunities to unemployed youth and women.

“I am happy to inform the people of Bauchi State particularly the business community that His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed has commenced the disbursement of grant of 500 million naira to traders and artisans across the state. Alhamdulillah, I have received many calls from our members that they have already gotten their own grant through their account numbers. His Excellency, has made us proud by commencing the disbursement of the grant even before the official launching.”

The Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the governor towards his move to construct ultra-modern markets in various parts of the state as well as upgrading some markets to ultra-modern status, observing that, the move would significantly improve the economic fortune of the state.

Abdullahi Caps appealed to the beneficiaries to continue to support the state government in its effort to diversify the economy of the state as already the government has created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive for the promotion of trade, industries and investment.
