No difference in intelligence, capacity and resourcefulness between a boy and a girl Child – VP Osinbajo

The Nigeria Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo make the post on his official social media handle on 11th of October 2022.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo words read:

“The case for treating the girl child with equality and dignity is a self-evident one. There is no difference in intelligence, capacity and resourcefulness between a boy and a girl.

Historical, cultural and discriminatory prejudices and practices have led many of us to believe there is a difference between the boy and girl child.

While the Federal Government must remain focused and committed to advancing effective approaches to keeping girls safe and ensuring that girls are given a fair chance, it is important to emphasize that the States and local governments have an even more important responsibility. Questions of education and medical care are essentially State matters.

Finally, to those who advocate for the rights of girls, the work you do is important, thank you so much.”
