Allah’s Apostle was the most generous of all the people

Narrated to us Abdaan who said informed us Abdullah who said informed us Yunus from (on the authority of) Zuhri who said narrated to us Bishr Bin Muhammad who said informed us Abdullah who said informed us Yunus and Ma’mar, same from Zuhri who said informed us Ubaidullah bin Abdullah from (on the authority of) Ibn Abbas who said: Narrated By Ibn ‘Abbas : Allah’s Apostle was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. Allah’s Apostle was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، وَمَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، نَحْوَهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ، وَكَانَ أَجْوَدُ مَا يَكُونُ فِي رَمَضَانَ حِينَ يَلْقَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ، وَكَانَ يَلْقَاهُ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَيُدَارِسُهُ الْقُرْآنَ، فَلَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَجْوَدُ بِالْخَيْرِ مِنَ الرِّيحِ الْمُرْسَلَةِ

حضرت ابنِ عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا : رسول اللہﷺسب لوگوں سے زیادہ سخی تھے اور رمضان میں تو جب جبریل علیہ السلام آپﷺ سے ملتے تو آپ ﷺ بہت ہی زیادہ سخاوت کرتے، اور جبریل علیہ السلام رمضان کی ہر رات میں آپﷺ سے ملتے اور آپﷺ کے ساتھ قرآن کا دَور کرتے غرض رسول اللہﷺ (لوگوں کو) بھلائی پہنچانے میں تیز ہوا سے بھی زیادہ سخی تھے۔
