Nigerian Army have seek the hand of Nigerian police to arrest former spokesman of All Progressive People Party APC, Mr. Timi Franks over spreading fake news.
Revealing these on Sunday via statement, Colonel Aliyu Yusuf described Frank Allegations as a concocted hogwash, and warn all those involved in spreading fake news to desist from it.
We can recall that Mr. Timi Franks alleged that President Muhammad Buhari hard a meeting with INEC boss Professor Mahmood Yakubu and Chief of Army staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Burtai to plan for his rigging of fort coming presidential election midnight.
Responding to his statement, Nigeria army said that the allegation is baseless and was targeted to tarnish the image of Burtai.
To these junction, Nigeria army deny the allegation, but further said that Buhari as the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria have the right to hold meeting with his service chief anytime he want.
He warn anybody or institutions to stop joining any issue that are purely political to Nigerian army.
Nigeria army is apolitical institution and remain so in other to carryouts her constitutional responsibilities.
He said we have reported Mr. Timi Frank to Nigerian police force to arrest him immediately and prosecute him for fake news and some other related offence purported against Nigeria Army leader, Aliyu said.
