4 peoples killed in Lokoja as Cult clash



No fewer than four peoples killed yesterday in Lokoja Kogi state capital, as two rival cultist group clash.

The metropolis of Lokoja Kogi Capital was thrown into confusion yesterday following the murdering of four peoples including a tri-cycle rider during a clash between two rival cult groups.

Narrating the information by an eye witness, said that the cult groups from Cantonment area and Kabawa sub urban, all in Lokoja engaged in a fighting that lead to injuring of several cult members and innocent people.

According to the information, The tricyclist which lost his life in the incident was allegedly killed as a result of his refusal to evacuate his passengers, and convey the wounded cult members to the hospitals.

While the three other peoples killed in the incident were suspected cultists.

Many different types of vehicles and tricycles were destroyed and some of them set ablaze by members of the rampag-ing cult groups.

The information has it that no one were spare during the onslaught, many people were molested and had their money and other valuable properties stollen from them.

It took the effort of anti-riot policeman deployed to the scene to bring the situation down, and normalcy return to the area.

Confirming the incident Kogi state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP William Aya, said one person died while three was injured in the onslaught.

He further confirmed that the crisis was as a result of clash between 2 rival cult groups.

DSP William also revealed that three peoples have been arrested in connection with the incident.
