Federal Government ban mining activities in Zamfara

News reaching us now is that federal government of Nigeria has other immediate halt to mining activities in Zamfara State.

The order was said to has been announced by Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector-General of Police.

The reason of put a stop to the mining in the state is a result of killing and kidnapping which has taken over the state, that resulted to protest yesterday in Abuja.

According to Sahara Reporter, “Adamau disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Sunday after a security meeting at the Presidential Villa, saying a special operation would also be launched against banditry in the state.

According to the acting IGP, foreigners and individuals must stop mining forthwith or risk losing their licences.

The development comes 24 hours after some protesters marched to Aso Rock to draw attention to the security situation in Zamfara.

Many have been killed, with property worth millions of naira destroyed in attacks by armed men”.

Omokoshabna.com earlier report that President Muhammad Buhari said it is unfair for anyone to say he is silent over the killing in Zamfara. According to the president tweet, he said he is not silent, and security strategy had already been put in place to bring the killing and kidnapping in the state to an end.
