Governor, Nyesom Wike, of Rivers State was yesterday presented with a certificate of return from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with his deputy, Ipalibo Banigo and other members of the House of Assembly in the State.
Wike, his deputy and others lawmakers elected were present at the INEC headquarters in Port Harcourt, the state capital to collect their certificate of return.
Wike won the governorship supplementary election of River State, after he scored 886,264 votes to defeat his closest rival Mr. Awara of the AAC that score 173,859 votes.
Wike’s victory comes after many inconclusive election in the state as a result of violence and electoral anomalies that was recorded in the elections.
Doe to the pressure witness in the course of the governorship election in the state began to build up with the exceptions of the APC from ballot papers, following court injunctions barring INEC from recognising APC candidates for Rivers elections.
After receiving certificate of return, Wike went ahead and kiss his wife there.
According to him, is a demonstration of her commitment to his success.
