IGU Fishing Festival, Hono. Wambai called for Self economy Reliance Egbura Kindom

Alhaji Abdullkarim Isah Usman (wambai of KOTONKARFE Kingdom),the member house of Representatives elect representing LOKOJA KOTONKARFE Federal constituency has called on the entire Egbura Kingdom to be self economic reliance, Hon. Wambai say this as he speak at IGU Fishing festival that was held yesterday at Igu, KotonKarfi Local Government area of Kogi.

According to the report from Moh’d Oseze, wambai stress that the purpose of festival is to elevates Egbura culture, save the culture from going into extinction, by passing it to their children.

Wambai speech read, “The IGU Fishing Festival is an annual four-days festival in Kogi kotonkarfe LGA, Kogi state in the north-central part of
Northern Nigeria. IGU fishing festivals is an expensive way to celebrate glorious culture, and traditional heritage of our community. The event is meant to celebrate moments and emotions in our lives together with our loved ones.

“The IGU fishing Festival play an important role to add structure to our social lives, and it connects us with our families and backgrounds.
And give us some inspiration to remember the important things and moments in life. Festival were meant to pass on legends, knowledge and tradition of our community to the next generation”.

Fishing is one of the rich cultural heritage of Egbura Koto, the even is held annually to mark Egbura cultural heritage, also serve as source of food for Egbura people.

Wambai also said that fishing, if properly utilized, it can provide many product to the industry of which in turn provide job opportunity to Egbura people.

According to him, “fishes form a rich source of food and provide a means to tide over the nutritional difficulties of man. In addition to serving as an important item of food, fishes provide several by-products to industry and thereby create employment opportunity to our people’s”.

He them called on all Egbura nation to be self reliance, he also urge all Egbura leaders to sacrifice themselves for the interests of all Egbura Kingdom, stressing that national building is not only for the government, but a collective responsibilities of everyone.

He said, “I solemnly acknowledge the need for us to be economy self-reliance. I urge leaders to make sacrifices in the interest of our land and National building is not limited to government alone, every citizen has a role to play by complementing government’s efforts and keeping vigilant at all times against dangers posed by those who have continued to undermine our democracy and peaceful coexistence.

we must remember to keep hope alive by dedication to service, courage to uplift the nation at all times and the supreme sacrifices for our common prosperity.
