President Muhammad Buhari has said that Nigeria will cooperate with Qatar to recharge lake chard.
President Muhammad Buhari said these after Emir of Qatar paid him a visit in Aso Vila at Abuja Yesterday.
The president stress that lake chad cannot be recharged by online one country.
He then point out that recharging lake chad will bring back fishing, farming and also will help to tackle insurgency as well as stop illegal migration.
According to Buhari, “The recharging of the Lake Chad is a priority for us, and we would like Qatar’s support, as it is not a project that the concerned countries can handle alone. Recharging the lake will bring back fishing, farming, animal husbandry, and help tackle insurgency and illegal migration”.
The other areas of development which President Muhammad Buhari said Nigeria will work with Qatar to improved include; Gas, Power, Agriculture, Aviation, Education and others.
Buhari said “I was pleased to welcome the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani @TamimBinHamad to Abuja, on his first visit to Nigeria. There are many areas in which Nigeria and Qatar can cooperate — oil and gas, power, aviation, agriculture, education, and others”.
