Lagos State deputy Governor father laid to Rest

This morning the father of Obafemi Hamzat deputy governor elect, Oba Mufutau Hamzat was laid to rest.

Until his death on Sunday evening, Hamzat was olu of Afowora Sogade, a traditional stool in Ogun state.

He was a frontline politician in Lagos state, having served as a commissioner and a lawmaker.

He was elected into the state house of assembly under the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in 1979.
