EFCC dissociate it self From Lekki and Festac Roadblocks, say Roadblock not part of Their practice

Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has dissociate it personnel from “roadblocks at highbrow areas of Lagos – Victoria Island, Lekki & Festac Town,” saying that the act was carried out by some “unscrupulous elements,,” that is “parading themselves as EFCC operatives to extort money from alleged internet fraudsters.”

EFCC said, “Attention of the EFCC has been drawn to activities of some unscrupulous elements, who mount roadblocks at highbrow areas of Lagos – Victoria Island, Lekki & Festac Town, parading themselves as EFCC operatives to extort money from alleged internet fraudsters.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it is not part of the EFCC’s operational practice to mount roadblocks, neither does it engage any agent(s) to do so on its behalf. EFCC operatives stick to standard procedures, which conform with the global best practices”

The commission also warn the general public to be aware of Dorcas Bukola who specialized in sending an invitation letter to her clients claiming the letter is from Ibrahim Magu , the commission chairman.

“Such letters should be dismissed as they didn’t emanate from the Commission.”

He said, “The EFCC also warns the public against antics of one DSP Dorcas Bukola, who claims to be acting on behalf of the EFCC Chair, Ibrahim Magu, and sending out invitation letters via [email protected]; Such letters should be dismissed as they didn’t emanate from the Commission.”
