A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

There is no way in the Land of Promise whereby the name of the Eket Senatorial District Political Leader will not be given a pride of place in the annal of history when the events shaping these two decades of uninterrupted democracy are being chronicled.

His sonorous name is always synonymous with truth, integrity, honesty, sincerity and cool headeness.

Chief Nduese Essien was in the vanguard for resource control , joining forces with the likes of the Father of Modern Akwa Ibom State, Arc Obong Victor Attah to bring justice and succour to his people.

After a five star performance in the Lower House of the National Assembly for eight years, a clarion call still came for him to serve in the Federal Executive Council.
He did not shy away from this responsibility as he brought his wealth of experience and finesse to bear in his assigned duties.

As someone who had served in two out of the three arms of government, He knows his onions and also where the shoe pinches.

The elder statesman, as a sticker for truth does not know how to speak with both sides of the mouth because of his urbane nature and strict upbringing. Sometimes, He is blunt and too straight forward to a fault.He is a nightmare to bread and butter politicians who will want to sell their birthright for a mere plate of pottage.

No amount of blackmail, intimidation mudslinging, political treachery will deter his numerous followers from adoring him and seeing him as a symbol of hope and justice.

A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.

After all, Rome was not built in a day. Chief Nduese Essien rose through the lower rung of the ladder by dint of hard work and sincere dedication to duties to hit the limelight.

Chief Nduese Essien is indeed a shinning light that can never be put out by enemies of progress masquerading the corridors of power today. Today’s men will also become Yesterday’s men if power still remains transient
