Another IMO State Law maker elect denied certificate, need justice

At the inauguration of the 9th Senate yesterday, one sour sound that kept troubling me is the absence of two Senators from Imo State. Imo State was the only State that had just one out of its three Senators inaugurated. While Distinguished Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha has received his own Certificate of Return, after all efforts to frustrate him, by the powers that be, Engineer Ndubuisi Emenike is still struggling against the forces of repression to recover his mandate.

Emenike, who is popularly known as Otooto Nwa by his numerous supporters is popularly acclaimed to have been massively elected by the good people of Imo North Senatorial District. However, a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu was alleged to have abducted the Returning Officer and made him under the force of crispy notes, to announce a fake result in his favor. The said Returning Officer was said to have absconded after that drama. INEC has since clarified that it is yet to make any returns in that particular election and was about concluding that business when the same Uwajumogu employed a delay tactics by going to court over the matter.

Also, the APGA candidate in that election is also alleged to have been boasting to anyone who cares to listen that he has got all the contacts needed to ensure that he is declared winner of that election, even though, by available results gathered from the polling booths level up to LGA, he was placing a distant third position. The claim that Senator Ifeanyi Ararume has wild contacts at INEC which shall ensure that someone who did not win election should be declared winner must not be taken for granted.

No matter how long justice is delayed, it must win. Engineer Ndubuisi Emenike is a young man who has distinguished himself in business and stood out as a philanthropist who has done a lot to help fellow young men attain their dreams in life. The massive support he enjoys in among the electorate is not surprising, as he has invested in the people and earns every support he gets.

We look forward to INEC toeing the path of honor in this matter by concluding the collation process in this election and return Engr Ndubuisi Emenike, who clearly won his election. Any other thing, amounts to injustice.
