Nigeria recognizes Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha as the most outstanding first lady in Nigeria

The immediate past First Lady of Imo State has just been recognized with an award as the most Outstanding First Lady in Nigeria by no other person than the Wife of the President of Nigeria, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari.

Ugonneoma Nkechi Okorocha, who is the wife of the immediate past governor of the State, and the Distinguished Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, redefined the office of the First Lady, by devoting her eight years as First Lady to bringing succor to the less privileged in the society and motivating thousands of Imo women into becoming the best they could be in the society without allowing their gender to pose any kind of barrier to them. She also fought for and succeeded in ensuring that qualified Imo women got plum positions in government.

Some of the pet projects of Her Excellency include the She Needs a Roof Project (SNARP), a project through which she built and furnished over 250 houses for indigent women in the State, as well as widows. She also extended the initiative to cover some extremely poor women outside Imo State.

Also, through her Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), the doctorate degree holder and tested businessman and investor inspired thousands of women to live true to their callings and helped a number of others hone their talents, while staying true to their matrimonial vows and being responsible mothers to their children.

Nneoma Okorocha is a big pillar of support to her husband and a virtuous mother to not just her biological children but to thousands of other children adopted by her husband through the Rochas Foundation Schools and in politics, through the Rescue Mission political family.
