Nasarawa Have No Direction, Sule Is Al-Makura’s Houseboy?

Indigenes of Nasarawa State has taken to social media to express mixed reactions on the continue romance between Governor Abdullahi A. Sule and his predecessor, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

The govenor had recently paid sallah homage to Senator Al-Makura at his residence in Abuja-FCT, presenting kola wrapped in a brown paper as tradition demands.

Also visiting the former governor were his appointees while in office notably Barr Mohammed Abdullahi (Magajin Garin Uke), minister-designate and immedidate past secretary to the state government (SSG).

Earlier, deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe and Hon. Tijjani Aliyu (current SSG) who both served under the former govenor as commissioners also visited him.

Senator Al-Makura looks like a man also in-charge, giving credence to a statement made earlier by a former Commissioner, Barr Yaji were he claimed the state presently has two (2) governors steering its affairs.

He left office as governor over two (2) months ago to the Senate, but the support and loyalty he enjoys still is unpredecented and unrivaled. His influence also has not diminished. This has earned him a new name, ‘Jagaban’ in addition to ‘Architect of Modern Nasarawa State’, modern in its diffiencies and lacks.

Al-Makura is undisputably a godfather, godfather in every sense. This he earned and not given. Bad or good, his footprint(s) cut across every communities in the state.

While he enjoys this, governance however suffers as his successor has been all talks, no action. Nasarawa State at the moment sits comfortable at the top in all indices of social misery.

I will do this and I will do that, but things are only getting worst. The state has no direction, says Comr. Sinki, a youth leader.

“The issues of percentage salaries, unemployment, and looting of state resources may continue.

“Engr. Sule must learn how to wear cow face and take decision”, he wrote on his timeline.

Another user sees Governor Sule not as a loyalty but Houseboy to his predecessor, Senator Al-Makura.

Sad, the govenor had the opportunity recently to regain public confidence through bursaries disbursement but messed it up. The exercise was a scam, some students said.

Unlike the e-disbursement introduced by his predecessor, bursaries disbursement by the Board now is by table payment. This has shortchanged hundreds of students.
